Wedvisa Payment Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how money is taken when you use Wedvisa in the United Kingdom. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy. Nothing here limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Wedvisa Ltd is the trader for paid Wedvisa platform services (such as supplier subscriptions). Contracts for wedding services themselves (venue, photographer, and so on) are between the couple and the supplier, not Wedvisa.
2. Couple planner
The core couple planner is free to use. You do not need to pay Wedvisa to create an account, plan an event, or use the included planning tools.
If we later offer optional paid couple features, the price, what is included, and when you will be charged will be shown clearly before you pay.
3. Supplier plans and commissions
Suppliers may use a free listing or a paid plan. Paid plans are billed in advance for the period shown at checkout (typically monthly). You can cancel a paid plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless a cooling-off refund applies — see the Refund Policy.
Where a booking is made through Wedvisa, a platform commission may apply at the rate shown on your supplier plan at the time of the booking. Commission is charged on that booking only. Leads you bring yourself are not charged commission unless we say otherwise at the time.
4. Cash gifts and wish list contributions
Guests can send cash gifts or contribute to a wish using card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Those payments are processed by Stripe.
The couple is the merchant of record for each gift. Money is collected on the couple’s connected Stripe account and paid out to their bank. Wedvisa charges a platform fee (currently 2.5% of the gift) at the time of payment. Card-processing fees are settled as shown at checkout; the guest may be offered the choice to cover fees.
A gift is a payment to the couple, not a purchase of goods from Wedvisa. Offline gifts recorded by the couple (cash, cheque, or bank transfer given in person) never pass through Wedvisa and are not charged a platform fee.
5. How we charge
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Wedvisa does not store full card numbers. Payment is taken when you confirm checkout, or on each renewal date for a subscription, until you cancel.
By paying, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method and that the details you give are accurate.
6. Prices, currency, and VAT
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). Where VAT applies, we will show whether the price includes VAT before you pay. Promotional prices apply only for the period stated.
7. Failed and disputed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry it or pause the paid feature until payment succeeds. If you believe a charge is wrong, email hello@wedvisa.com promptly. You may also raise a dispute with your card issuer. Chargebacks on cash gifts are settled against the couple’s connected account because the couple is the merchant of record.
